It’s Tomothy

Hello, you’re here to learn more about me and quite honestly I think that’s great. I am an Illinois based artist who has found his style by creating bean bodies characters that come across both cute and creepy … mood dependent.

I am married to the most sensational woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, which has allowed me the opportuinty to begin this journey. I have never felt comfortable working in a traditional trade job, and after 20+ years she pushed me to be done and give my passion a true chance to flourish.

I seek to create as much as I can and always expand my skillset of what I can do. I enjoy painting, drawing, working in traditional mediums like clay, painting tabletop miniatures, digital drawing, and creating characters on my iPad that I can print later.

I can not thank you enough for being here, the support of anyone who enjoys what I do truly means the world to me.

My Approach

I realized quickly on in my journey to “find my style” that I am not exceptionally symmetrical in my drawing. So, I turned that into a strength and threw proportions out the window. Leaning into what once drove me mad brought such profound joy to my art.

Chaotic Neutral Inspiration

The art needs to speak to me, not the other way around. Meaning that I need to let the chaos direct me to what the final product is going to be.

Lawful Good Linework

Having tried my hand at being a tattoo artist, I realized the strength that good linework has. Utilizing multiple line weights to keep the chaos in check, but draw the eye where it needs to be.
